What happens next
1. Tell us about the roof
Describe the leak, damage, roof age, material, property location, and when you would like help.
2. The project details are reviewed
A repair, metal roof, slate roof, commercial membrane, and full replacement may require different experience.
3. A roofing company contacts you
An independent company that serves the area and accepts that type of work may call, text, or email you about the request.
4. You review the estimate
The roofing company inspects the property and provides its own proposal, contract, schedule, warranty, and roofing work if you decide to proceed.
Before you hire the roofing company
- Confirm its current registration where applicable and insurance
- Ask who will perform and supervise the work
- Get the complete roof assembly, repairs, exclusions, allowances, and payment terms in writing
- Understand manufacturer and workmanship warranties
- Compare more than price when the scopes are different
Important service limits
Submitting a request does not guarantee that a roofing company will be available, accept the project, respond within a particular time, or offer a particular price. Insurance coverage is determined by the insurer.
What happens to your information, precisely
| Stage | What happens | What does not happen |
|---|---|---|
| You submit the form | Property, roof detail, contact preference and consent are recorded | No credit check, no account, no payment |
| The request is reviewed | Matched to a company by service type, territory and current capacity | It is not auctioned to the highest bidder |
| A company receives it | They decide whether to accept it and contact you | We do not promise them the job |
| They contact you | By the method you indicated, about this request | Not added to a marketing list without separate consent |
| They inspect and propose | Their inspection, their scope, their price, their contract | We do not set, approve or review their price |
| You decide | Proceed, decline, or get another estimate | There is no obligation and no cancellation fee |
What this service cannot promise
Stating the limits plainly matters more on an urgent request than on a planned one. If water is entering the building right now, submit the request and say so, but also take the immediate safety steps yourself rather than waiting: keep people clear of sagging ceilings and wet electrical fixtures, contain water from a safe position indoors, and stay off the roof.
- That a roofing company will be available, accept the project, or respond within any particular time
- A price, a price range, or that any estimate will match another
- Workmanship, scheduling, completion, or satisfaction — those belong to the company you hire
- That your insurer will cover anything; coverage is your insurer's decision
- Emergency response — this is not 911, a utility, or a water-mitigation service
How to make the request more useful
The quality of what you write changes what happens next more than most people expect. A request saying only that the roof leaks tells a company nothing about whether they are the right company; one that says water appears at the ceiling edge during a thaw after snow, on a 22-year-old asphalt roof, in a house whose attic has never been assessed, tells them almost everything.
Three details do most of the work: where the water or damage appears, what weather makes it change, and the roof material and rough age if you know them. Photographs taken safely from the ground or from inside are worth more than a paragraph of description.
- Where exactly the problem appears, inside and outside
- What conditions make it start, stop or worsen
- Roof material and approximate age, if known
- Whether the same area has been repaired before, and when
- Access constraints — narrow lot, long drive, tight parking
- Whether water is entering right now
